The toolkit includes a policy to increase the provision of weight management services that include total diet replacement. These programmes are relatively high intensity, and take-up from patients when opportunistically offered is about 13%. Lower intensity lifestyle programmes include weekly sessions delivering dietary advice and behavioural support and are currently delivered in the community following referrals via primary care.
